The boy made the decision….

To join the school soccer team for his extra curricular activities.

What… for CCA you ask? Yes. This primary 3 boy chose soccer.

There are mix reviews on this decision I should say, some family members thought this boy will get hurt and tired easily…but some encourages saying…hmmm..a good way to keep him fit.

As for me, I will always support whatever he decided on.  I am here to encourage him and of course advises him along the way.

Of course the more exciting part for the boy is to get himself the soccer boots.

Plus other soccer boots stuffs I guess…

Anxiety, Excited, Frustrated, Happy, Panic, Funny, Confused, Hungry, Puzzle cum Yaaay Moment, Full, Sleepy, Satisfied….Overall : Esctatic!…in that order, please.

What’s with the melodramatic feelings? 

Can’t help it *shrugs*

Anxiety :

My parents arranged a night out with the whole family including our Aunt who came back from OZ for a short holiday. Ooops…that’s include my sis’s BF (Hasdi) who is the other designated driver in the family   Where to? JB for a seafood dinner.  Plus it’s an early birthday celebration for my dad who will be 57 this 31 Dec!  So as the day is nearing till last night, the anticipation of it is overwhelming since this will be the first time my dad goes ‘out’ of the country…hehehehe…literally! after soo soo many years!

Excited :

The day came, with the whole family excited not only me mind you! Hmmm…especially my sis, being in love or so…hehehehe…sorry gerl, just gotta add this! Oh yeah of course my little boy too, as he is known to be excited with the idea of driving in convoys!

So here’s our ride….

Frustrated :

Oh well, what do you expect, of course its gonna be jam packed with cars on a Saturday evening!

Happy :

The last time my mum met up with my aunt was a few months ago, so the moment they meet, they hug, cry a little (mum only)….

but of course everyone is finally happy to meet my Cousin Caca after like nearly ages!  Future Doctor, insyaallah!

Panic + Funny :

We thought GPS works….NAH!!!..at least not for Malaysia map, we got lost instead!

Supposedly to go to this seafood village in Senibong, which is by the way somewhere in Permas Jaya.  Us being first time to venture to this area, trusted so much on the Navigator thingy!  We missed a turn at first but when we decided to make a u-turn, we end up to the same road and missed the turn again…oh wait in fact it was like riding on a merry-go-round! Got panic, stopped by the roadside and looked at my aunt’s directional map….LOL…but decided to follow the sign board instead!…duh!!..should have followed the board in the first place right?!….we and our technology-dependant self!

Confused :

We finally made it to our destination and found the seafood village but the thing is when we reached there, we found out that the restaurant is a non-halal one!…????huh????….

A relative of ours who recommended this place to my aunt, mention that it is a halal one?….confusion starts so my aunt called her and clarified that there is a “nasi lemak” signboard before entering to that other restaurant. Phew! Finally reached our destination! (miss out taking the entrance to this restaurant)…hmmmm…to0 much drama just to get to this place, what do ya expect?!!! hehehehe

But look at the view from where we are seated! We can see SingChaPor!  Nice sunset eh?

Hungry :

So hubby ate a few otak-otak while waiting for the food to be served, unfortunately I find that the otak-otak a bit fishy lah!

Dad got the first birthday present of the day from Aunt ; Peanuts!!! Appetizer for him perhaps :-)

Puzzle cum Yaay Moment :

This part puzzled me. Its meant to be my dad’s birthday celebration but my Aunt got a 2nd present for my Dad AND Mum??..Play cheat hah Auntie! 2 in 1 ha?! LOL!!!

A bedspread!…Okaylah…it benefits both I must say, Mum with a lovely bedspread, Dad laid on the bedspread.

Full :

I remembered Dad love to listen to radio on the way to work and since he did not have it since so many years now, I decided to get him this:-

Food served : Crab/Fish/Sotong…you name it, all seafood, we got it!

It filled the long table.

Sleepy :

As usual, when you have a full stomach, you tends to get sleepy.  My boy definitely knows how to show it

Satisfied :

Last but not least, Dad finally got what he deserve, a good smoke in hand courtesy of our Uncle Hussein! Thanks!

Happy 57th Birthday Dad!  Here’s to another 50 more years!  Stay healthy, happy and feel young always!

Alhough of course the night is still young, we went to Jusco before leaving for home and we brave through the congested causeway again but this time feeling satisfied

NOTE : This is the longest post I’ve written so far…Phew!

That is definitely a favourite pastime here in Singapore besides eating and shopping of course!  You can see lots of tents put up along the beach stretched from Marina till Changi. 

Today was such a fine day, clear sky not sunny at all compared to yesterday’s downpour.  We thought our plan for a picnic were drenched but fortunately the weather is super great today!

Honestly, I am not a fan of the beach actually but the idea of getting together with my extended family were very exciting!  I can’t remember the last time we had such gathering, it’s been ages I tell ya.  The only time we get to meet is Hari Raya which is like once a year right?…yeah sad

Anyways,  we had lots of fun even my mum were enjoying herself, playing badminton okay! LOL ….PS : She’s not bad, not bad at all!

The boys were playing a little bit of football.

The girls and later some of the boys rented out the bikes for a leisure ride.

While the younger boys & girls rather get soaked!

Of course, what a picnic without LEPAK!

Thank you guys for making this day a great day for us all!!!

She was of strength, courage, forgiving, blessed, loved and above all extraordinary.

She was my Beloved Grandma.

She left us nearly 2 years now but her presence is still deeply felt by us all.  Please do not get me wrong,  I do not wish to offend anyone or even try to hurt anybody’s feeling but do forgive me if I did.  I am writing because, I just want to remember the person she was and always will in my heart. 

My childhood days were mostly spent at Grandma’s.  I remembered clearly that we used to visit her every weekend without fail when we were young, me and my other sibling.  Even the cousins would come over to the house and we had the most fun together.  Usually we were there by Saturday afternoon when Dad knocked off from work or even if Dad got to work abit late, Mum would bring us to Grandma’s.  The moment we reached her home, she would ask “dah makan?” have you eaten? and we would say “dah!!!” yes!!! although we have not because we were too excited to go out to play.  But she will definitely insist on her grandchildren to eat first before anything else.  At Grandma’s, we can get away with anything I tell ya, we can stay out till the evening but must return before Maghrib of course!  Since its only on the 2nd level, the parents won’t mind at all.  Grandma would always prepare snacks for us in the afternoon, jempot2, goreng pisang even cream crackers dip in teh O!   She would always tell us to eat more and said “Makan, makan, takpe gemok, gemok kan cantik” direct translation ” Eat, Eat, Fat Nevermind, Fat is Beautiful!” LOL… that’s how Grandma was, in her eyes, all her children, grandchildren and even her in-laws, even if they are fat, they are still beautiful.  The funny part is whenever she saw a fat person on tv, she would say “eh eh gemok nye dia!!!” (oh my, how fat is she/he?!) Oh yeah, Grandma loved to watch Tamil Drama, especially the fighting scene, her arms and legs somehow will fly in the air giving punches as though she is the one punching…”bodoh lah, elak lah” “hmmphh…apasal tak lari” “hmmmpphh…mmm…padan muka dia!!!” some of the phrases we can hear from her!!  

By Sunday morning, she will always prepare her famous Roti Boyan with Sambal Tumis..miss it alot   We usually do not leave until lunch time but whenever we were about to leave, she will always make sure that we go to toilet first to pee so that we do not have trouble finding the loo on our journey back home   She always has that smile on her face, knowing that the next weekend, she will see her grandchildren again. 

The smile that will always be in my mind now.

She was indeed an amazing woman, wife, mother and grandma.

Last night, my cat Puffy died.

In loving memory

Found her on the grass patch below our flat, lying lifeless…..*its really hard for me to even write this*

I called out her name and she meowed faintly….everytime I touched her, she growled softly indicating that she’s hurting badly, oh how sad, to hear her….I cradled her back home like holding a fragile baby in my arms, still meowing softly, I know she is hurting soo bad I can’t even describe it. Her body were scratched all over, with her right eye bleeding. I don’t think she was abused but maybe a fight must have occurred between the neighbouring cats. I am sure she fought back because I know she is one feisty cat but alas, she was defeated……

I nursed her and call out her name every time, gave her water but she doesn’t seem to sip the water into her mouth. Even now while writing this, I can still remember the way she look at me with those sad eye as though if only she could talk to me and say ‘ibu, help me, I am in pain’…………………………………………….

Although her body were limp and lifeless, she was trying very hard to get up, shifted her body from left to right and from right to left but everytime she does that she kept on falling on her back, I really do not know what to do, tears keep rolling down my cheeks, why does it hurt soo much, she is just a cat after all, noooo…she is my family.

Sadly, she didn’t die quietly, at first she gasped for air then her body shook violently and finally taking her last breath…her lifeless body went all cold and stiff.

I am sorry for giving you up.

I am sorry for abandoning you.

I am sorry for letting you go.

I am sorry.

Went to my cousin’s Faliq’s Wedding…very nice celebration.  Handsome Groom and Very Preeety Bride!

Of course that’s not the only thing that we are there, it’s time to catch up with the cousins, aunties, uncles and other relatives.  I guess this is the only time that we are able to meet up and have a chat or two.  Really had a great time!

The other day, I was just looking through all the old photos at my mom’s, searching for photos of me when I was young and selengeh (yah, just gotta admit that) to show to my friend at work.  I stumbled upon photos of me with dad.  It suddenly struck me how close I was back then with dad (I am his first child, after all). We used to play hide & seek together, shared a joke and sang me a song to bed. 

I still do remember the song he used to sing to my brother and me, by the late M Ramli (I hope I got the correct “Ramli”) and the song goes:

*Anakku sayang, Intan Diana (Yati/Zaki), kau lah pelita, hidup ayah ini*

And it did put us to sleep…….

Hide & Seek

I miss him soooo much….don’t get me wrong, he is very much alive & kicking, alhamdullilah.  It just that, how I wish I can turn back the clock and give him the same kind of affections that I gave to my mom.  Now that I am an adult, I am too shy to show even a bit towards him.

Dad, please let me know of your feelings, tell me if you are sad or happy, whether you are proud of me or not and even share a story or two.  You have always been my hero, my saviour and my support.  I know how hard you work to support the family, worked from dawn till late night just to provide us in order for us to live a comfortable life. I may not show it, but Dad, I just wanna tell you how much I appreciate and respect you.  Now that I am young (OLD), I want in return to protect you and cherish the moments with you.

How time flies?….Its nearly our 10th Wedding Anniversary this come July, 18, 2008.

We have indeed gone through all the thick and thin together but I am sure there are more coming ahead of us.  Nevertheless, we learn to know each other so much better, that even the things that we find iritating, ridiculous, unreasonable at times previously are all part and parcel of what the significant one is really about. *vice versa ok*

Compromising plays a very BIG part of our life.  That’s where we learn how  to tolerate, respect and be patience with each other.  No one is perfect, there are flaws everywhere.  Those people who said that they have no problems in their relationship,  are all bullshit! *don’t mind my language*

All this time, I’ve grown to love the father of my child even more than we first met.  I am so blessed to have such a man in my life, not a perfect man but just a man!

Ya Allah, panjangkanlah jodoh kami. Amin.

Transformers,  The Masks, Care Bears, Smurfs, The Road Runner Show, Tom & Jerry, Popeye, The Sesame Street….ok ok obviously I am the 70s – 80s kid.  I still do remember those days when we use to watch all these cartoons after we had our evening bath/shower and mum used to make us wear pyjamas, me and my brother.  How neat we look back then….hmmm…..

Time has changed indeed, nowadays they have cartoon network on your cable (they got network for cartoons now ok!) Some of them even made it back to the main screen (eg. Transformer) Anyways, the ‘IN’ thing now is BEN 10, correct me if I’m wrong, you can see most of the boys go crazy with wearing that wrist watch ‘OMNITRIX’!  So guess what my boy asked for today (since his accomplishment of the IQRA’ see)?  A BEN 10 figurine! 2 of them actually.
